In January 2002 Traci and Pete Terlecky lost their infant son, Samuel to NEC, a life threatening intestinal illness.
Samuel Terlecky lived only a few short days, but his life continues to inspire hope and bring healing to other children through what has become an annual event held at the Buffalo Athletic Club. After Samuel’s death BAC instructors quickly coordinated this fun fitness event now known as Fitness Frenzy. The event has made what was once tragic, into a miraculous legacy for a little boy whose short life leaves something behind so profound. Mother and BAC instructor Traci, is strengthened every year while meeting so many of the families in Buffalo who benefit from this wonderful community effort and continues to keep Samuel’s memory alive and living every day.
Through the support and encouragement of the BAC owners and dedication of area aerobic director Ellen Coleman, GM’s and fellow peers and instructors, Fitness Frenzy has become an important uplifting community event. The memory of Samuel forever lives in the hearts of his family and in the hearts of Fitness Frenzy supporters year in and year out. Samuel is one child representing so many children at the hospital who so desperately need help.
